I don't think you should feel ashamed either. Any tool is only as good as the user. Flexes give a lot of leeway for improper use. I don't think you're someone who would use one badly.

In one of my posts I think I said that the way you use one is the appropriate use for them. Also that I think a training lead would also work for that.

For crowded city streets they are not appropriate, unless you never exetend them. In NYC, there is even a maximum leash length law of six feet.

I even have an extra long hand me down one that I've used twice with Bonnie when we are upstate in open parks.
