Thanks, gladcow! If nothing else, now I will forever have a mental picture of you scratching your ears and making funny moaning sounds. Just like miss Grace. :antlers:

Lola has had problems in the past with yeasty ears, even though she eats vegan grain free food. I tried a lot of different oils(coconut, almond ect) and nothing seemed to help.

I looked up stuff online and read good things about "blue ear wash" that you make yourself. I, for the life of me, couldn't find gentian violet anywhere. Later when I was picking up a bag of dog food at my local feed store I was reading the backs of all the ear care products and K-9 Liquid Health Ear Solution had almost the same ingredients as the blue wash. I know it wasn't pleasant for Lola having that stuff squirted into her ear, but after the first week I stopped flushing and just used it to wipe inside with a napkin.

Anytime we get some head shaking going on here, or ears look a little funky, I wipe with the blue stuff and all is good. I swear by that stuff. Saved me a trip to the vet, where I'm sure they would have perscribed a bunch of junk....

We've been alternating between the medicated ear wipes and the almond oil with Grace O'Malley. I'm going to check out the K-9 Liquid Health Ear Solution, lolamako. Thanks!
