Hamsters, Apr 2011

Do we want to have a hamsters thread over here? I haven't been over to PBP enough to really bother posting in that Hamsters thread...

Saturday, 2 Apr: Snowshoe walk, approx 8 km, 2:00, flat/slightly rolling terrain.

Sunday, 3 Apr: Bike ride, 34 km, 1:45, flat/slightly rolling terrain, windy.
I just walked. I was very happy.

April 5 - 40 minutes yoga

I found a new to me program on my yoga app and I really like it. Hope to make it habit. As usual :p

BAH! I have a cold so I'm off the hamster wheel for a few days. And it's just getting sunny and warm out, too!
I just walked. I was very happy.

I hope you feel better soon, vegematic! I was sick through many of our sunny days this year. Suckitude is the word for that.

You might want to check out the Yogamazing app. I like that you can download the yoga videos you want, thus freeing you from download/streaming glitches. Each routine is between 20-22 minutes long and is preceded by an annoying intro. But the instructor is pretty good, so I put up with his chatterbox intro. The yoga for hamstrings session is great; the flow sessions are hard because he is sometimes a little faster than I can keep up with.

Trying to get back into shape...

Daily, 2-5 miles running, mostly with Caboodle, another half mile at a walk with Dugie. 15 or so mintes of stretches, mostly because running makes me feel shrunk into tiny chords without. Two runs per week are at Wachusett Mt so I can incorporate a decent hill climb. Daily, 30-60 minutes of what I'll call exercise at home. It involves core and upper body weights.

I am determined to get back into fighting shape. Plans, ai haz dem...

thanks, quagga, I will check that out. :)

I'm actually really happy with my app, though. I upgraded over Christmas but have only recently been getting deeper into the programs. I can download to use later, and I just noticed it keeps track of all my sessions cumulatively. I've done 4 hours of yoga! Which is something, considering I've only been doing 15 minute sessions thus far. :p

I meditated for 45 minutes yesterday. I'm counting it here for two reasons:
- I was sitting up and using my core muscles and whatnot, which is hardish
- I see it as part of my exercise routine
