As someone who has been involved in the protests in Madison for the past six days, I find the news media coverage of the momentous events in this town to in no way portray the reality of what is going on here. In their attempts to constantly be balanced, the news media seem to have lost all ability to be accurate.

my sister (an elementary school teacher, married to a carpenter) went to madison to protest on friday and again on saturday. i haven't been, yet, but a lot of the faculty members at our university have been going (and emailing a ton in the meantime, heh).

After watching all this unfold, and thinking about it some more, I was wrong about the politicans leaving the state to stall the vote. Probably the best choice, the best action they could take. Sorry all....I was wrong.

I haven't seen such protests since the 60's. Too bad they have to do it, but good to see people sticking together. I really thought Americans had forgotten how to do that.

we went to a rally at our capitol building this weekend. there were about a thousand people all decked out in Wisconsin Badgers red & white. Great signs, good speakers. I have pictures, but am having issues posting them to facebook. I will, soon.
everyone's right and no one is sorry, that's the start and the end of the story
