Nutritional supplement questions

Postby Dugan » Sat May 18, 2013 12:40 pm

For surgery, one generally gets whomped with heavy duty antibiotics, and yesterday was no exception. I've read that it can be a good idea to supplement with probiotics following antibiotic use. I know very little about them.

Any thoughts or resources?

I take a daily low-dose antibiotic for prevention of chronic UTIs. This winter it caught up with me and I had frequent vomiting and diarrhea so I decided to try a probiotic. I use futurebiotics Longest Living Acidophilus because that's what my local HFS carries and it seems to be vegan. I Take one in the a.m. and one at bed time. It's worked wonders. After a month my gut was pretty much back to normal. It doesn't seem to help with yeast infections, although I didn't really expect it to.

Here's the link on Amazon:

I just walked. I was very happy.

Yeah, as long as it seems to be vegan, and maybe have a few different strains, it's probably not terribly important to think too much about it.
