Roasted Yellow Pepper and Corn Bisque p 145-6
I roasted the peppers the day before - yummmmm!!! The soup itself was good but surprisingly more bland than I'd expected from the recipe. We'd made a double batch. To that, I added a third lime. Since it was help-yourself from the stove, I mixed in 1 t of nutmeg, then another. The chiles that'd made my fingers burn while cutting resulted in only a bit of spiciness, so I also ground in a bunch of white pepper.

For some reason I've had a hard time getting into most of V'con. The recipes mostly seem too laborious or have too many ingredients (and sometimes difficult to find or expensive ingredients).

same. but, I feel that way about a lot of Isa recipes. harder than they need to be. eh. on the other hand, she has a few recipes that I rely heavily on. Like the pumpkin muffins in VWAV. And the entire cupcake book.
everyone's right and no one is sorry, that's the start and the end of the story
